Need PCB 2060-70537-003 Rev A for WD1600AAJS-00B4A0

Hi all:

I need PCB 2060-70537-003 Rev A for WD1600AAJS-00B4A0.

My server power supply burned up, taking every drive in the chassis with it. PCB's have a hole burned through them.

I'd like to attempt replacing the PCB on one of them before I try any disaster recovery companies.

I found a reference in a Western Digital support response that said as long as the model, LBA, and last 3 digits of DCM are identical then replacement is an option.

This drive requires programming the new pcb this has to be done with special tools so even if u find a compatible pcb it will not work with your drive until you program it .

You should find a pro neat you .

Could we see a photo of the damage? It may be that the damage is not confined to the PCB.

Otherwise, if you are willing to spend US$150 on a software tool (WDR-UDMA or WD HD Pro), then you may have a chance at a DIY repair.

Here is the PCB. Burn mark is on the 2nd largest chip in the top right corner. The burn does not go through to the reverse side of the board.

I've been told that I can replace the PCB with a matching PCB but I would have to move the large chip in the center over to the new board.

That chip does not seem to have any solder points. Does anyone know how to remove it without damage?

The SMOOTH chip controls the onboard power supplies. Unfortunately it appears to be damaged on the side that controls the Vcore regulator for the Marvell MCU (88i8845C-BHG2). If the MCU is damaged, then there will be no point trying to transfer it.
