Buying a force spindle tool

I'm looking to buy a tool to fix a force spindle. I know you can use a power drill, but I'm not sure if this is a safe method.

Ah, as per your other thread, seagate-7200-t24550.html you are now considering using a power drill to unseize the spindle?

since you are thinking about using power drill, I would suggest you to use a pneumatic impact wrench, instead :

Forcing the bearing to rotate will probably NOT help you with this case..... there are several things that need to be considered on this, and one thing is that a bent spindle (which is why it's jammed) will inevitably vibrate, and that's assuming that you will be able to free it off sufficiently to enable the free running of the drive motor, and vibration (however small) is a killer on these....

Think long and hard before you attempt a DIY on this one...... a pro will have considerably more experience and greater chance of eventual success at recovery, the cheapest option (and sometimes most obvious) is not always best....

P.S.....If your data is valuable I recommend that you DON'T force the spindle and DON'T use a drill to do it.... Seek Pro Assistance on this one.
