If only it were that easy to purchase a used PC3K unit.

Somehow I doubt anyone will offer to send that sort of money to someone who's located in "Atlantis" and has virtually no forum activity.

data-medics, Just to clear things up, I am not revealing neither my identity not my location simply because of the fact that I don't want to have any issue with acelab.

Because the license is to you, personally, and non-transferrable? Yeah, I know some use a proxy to avoid the registration problem, but that's no way to run a business.

Exactly Larry. The activation is country specific, so if you're not revealing even the country you're from the buyer doesn't know if they can even activate the software after they install it. Why not contact Ace and try to work it out legitimately with them, that way the buyer might actually have a chance to get updates and support.

Here is what you can do:
-NEVER plug the PC3k online.
-When you want to activate the card send me the file and I will send you the activation.
-You can download updates using the update box. But I prefer to send you all the updates files (if you have already a PC3K you can use you own updates). From 2016 and on there is no need for updates.
-After completing the instalation and the updates just clone the drive or save an image file. (no need for reactivation)

data-medics, Do you think there is a possibility to work thing out with acelab? (The license agreement is very clear, "The tool dies with you")

I will be interested in buying but all seems complicated. Is there anyway you can make out with ace LAB that you are merging up with another company in Europe and have it free for use in Europe. This will make it all easy.
If you get a good response then i will be happy to go for it.

Just be aware of quote :"From 2016 and on there is no need for updates."

I'd guess that if you are selling it to someone who already has a relationship with Ace they'll work with you. I think the licensing is to prevent extra people from getting the manuals and info they share when you buy the system, and to prevent people from buying where it's cheaper marking up and reselling to other places.

Why in the world would anyone want the old slower PCI card without any possibility of future updates?

I actually did contact Ace regarding this, and they confirmed that they will under no circumstances transfer the license. So you'd have to really trust the person you're buying it from as you'd have to rely on them to get updates, etc.

The country restriction is only a possibility, and may not be strictly enforced. It likely depends on where you actually bought it. If you were a customer in USA or Europe where the price is higher, they probably don't care if you move around. But if you bought in one of the countries where it's cheaper like Russia, they'll more likely monitor the IP of where you're using it to be sure you're not trying to mark up and re-sell.
