hello guys...
I have three defective HD which are behaving is a somewhat similar manner.
the 1st one is not recognized on bios when I connect it to CMD it makes little peeps peeps noise I would say 1 second apart from each other, (similar to a scanner) and then it goes silence.
Interface task reset
1024k x 16 buffer detected
ALPINE - 1_Disk M-21 11-25-03 18:53
Buzz - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF - Head Mask FFFF.
I stoped it but for each peep noise there was one Head Mask FFFF and so on...
the 2nd one also busy on bios as well, and does little click click noises and on CMD it shows this:
Interface task reset
1024k x 16 buffer detected
ALPINE - 1_Disk M-21 11-25-03 18:53
Head Mask FFFF - Switch to full int.

( I have read on past posts that this H0 deffective head), the way the ppl on salvation util do a head drop is when the drive is ready.
so i cant do it by the way ppl on the salvation tell.
I also read that a command on level T>kx,y,z but it wont let u drop head 0.
the 3rd HDD is similar to the first one.
I do not have a clean room nor the tools to do a head exchange to that is out of prospective, based on your knowlege, should I even spend time on this HDD? or it would be better just to get the PCB and dump them?
I only want to repair not DR.
thanks

that beeps beeps noise is two things
1)the motor of the platters are slowing down
2)the amp control head is dead
the only way to recovery is by replacing the controller head from a known good one
how come you can no depop the head with salvation data software
i thought you could do this with any drives and recovery the data

you can dont give me wrong, the only contrain is that the HDD has to be recognized (ready).
