As I have seen in the past "some" people connect the 2.5" adapter the wrong way round and kill the interface electronics (sending 5v down the interface pins)
It is entirely possible I did indeed insert this drive upside down in the 2.5 to 3.5" adapter. The adapters I had were unlabeled (not even the slave/master settings), though I'm pretty sure I had them right the first time, but who knows? If this is the case, what do you think died on the board? Either way, this likely killed it. Bios swap is still good though, I assume?
Resistance across the brown component .147. The audio cue on my meter does not go off when I check this component. The blue fuse measures .143, also no audio cue. The 000 component gives an audio cue, with resistance of .002, the same as if no component was there and I just touched the tips together.
