I am new to this forum and I have a dead hard drive with years of information in it. The PCB has burnt and I have no way of getting my info from it other than finding a match HD to replace the PCB. I am sorry if this is a redundant post. I am seeking the following

WD Caviar SE 16
Model: WD5000AAKB-00UKA0
Date : 08 JUN 2007
DCM : HARCHVJCAN

PCB Sticker 2061-701508-900 AA
PWB 2060-701508-001 REV A

Please let me know if you have such a hard drive. You can contact me at amustafa{at}hotmail{.com}

Thank You,
Mustafa

The PCB is not burnt. It just does not respond. When I plugged in, it starts to spin and make normal sounds. But it spins very fast and warms up. The computer does not recognize it. I assumed it is the PCB

Hmmm..

"assume" = "guess"

Less likely since the drive spins up ok.

In your experience, if its not PCB then what could be? The drive is not responding, but it spins fine
