Seagate hard drives required ST3500630AS and ST31000333AS

May 7th, 2012, 11:32

Hi I am looking for two Seagate hard drives for a project. I've looked around some of the donor drive sellers for them but no luck so far.

Does any one have one of these? Or can recommend good sellers?

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB
ST3500630AS
FW: 3.AFM
Site: SU
Date: 08xxx
P/N: 9BJ146.568

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1000GB
ST31000333AS
FW: LC15
Site: TK
Date: 09xxx
P/N: 9FZ136-100

Any help would be greatly appreciated

We have both models, but depending on what you are looking to match, we may or may not have a donor available. Check out www.donordrives.com

Hi, thank you for replying.

I am looking to swap the heads in both these drives (not with each other). I took a look on your website before posting, but couldn't find any matches. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that I need to match everything I listed to ensure the greatest chances of success?

f/w and date are not that important. If you can match fw and have date as close as poss, then you will have a great donor, but it can be done without them.

This is what I found working:
1. Same Site Code
2. Same model number
3. First 3 letters in serial number. Example 9QC******, where * could be anything.

Also, check out this guide I wrote - http://www.donordrives.com/hard-drive-p ... swap-match. Could be helpful too.
