Hello,
The PCB on my drive looks exactly the same as the PCB in the picture on the forum except the large chip reads:

ST(logo) MV08BB
100404195
V470BB16ETR
96608047
AA133
TWN 99 621

The PCB connector reads:

FOXCONN 65N1 100327114

The label reads:
S/N: 3PM1HNQH
ST3500641A
P/N: 9BD048-304
Firmware: 3.AAJ
Date Code: 07103 Site Code: AMK

Can this PCB be switched out?
Thanks

I have a similar drive that has a fried power system (diode starts smoking when I plug the HDD into a external enclosure and power up).

A few years ago I accidentally plugged in a laptop power supply (17V DC instead of the 12V DC for the external's power supply) and fried the power system. I tried switching the PCBs with a drive that had all the same specs and firmware but different interfaces (bad HDD has ATA, good drive has SATA). The new board would spin the platters, but the computer wouldn't recognize the drive.

I tried sending it to a HDD recovery company but they wanted $1,000 to recover the data, even though I sent them the good drive along with the bad drive. When the drives returned the bad drive then had a damaged Inductor on the PCB rendering it further useless.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions where I can purchase a PCB for this old, bad drive. Specs on the PCB/HDD are:

Seagate 7200.9
ST3500641A
P/N: 9BD048 - 560
Firmware: 3.AAJ
Data Code: 07222
Site Code: AMK

The PCB connector reads:

FOXCONN 6AY1 100327114
Barcode on the PCB: 100383764 E 7719WJC7

Controller Chip:
ST(logo) MV08BB
100367049
V470BB16ETR
96605038
AA194
TWN 99 617

I have a similar problem and am in need of a PCB board.
This is my board
Image

Noticed the fried component just above the X in foxconn. If anyone knows what this component is I'd be interested in knowing what I killed.

Specs on the PCB/HDD are:

Maxtor One touch III 750 GB
S/N: TB031NVC
USB2/1394A

The PCB connector reads:

FOXCONN 64U1 100327114
Barcode on the PCB: 100406537 C 7651HLRF

Controller Chip:
ST(logo) MV08BB
100404195
V470BB16ETR
96608038
AA140
TWN 99 620

For now, if anyone knows where I can get a replacement, that would be awesome.
