Got replacement board from Softcon, but bios chip is different.
Get Hawk...error msg.
Maybe barking up wrong tree, but I inadvertently had both power supply plugs hooked up when I booted up. So, I thought I'd try a new circuit board to resurrect old HDD, and recover data.
Any ideas ?.. Thx..

You can change the ROM chip from your old pcb to then new one , that will make your new pcb compatible with your drive .
The ROM chip is indicated on the pcb as U12 on most wd drives .
