Yes i am sure i make a hotwap

yes with other PCB the drive get DRD DSC.

It´s not 100% compatible because the model is the same wd1600aajs-xxxxxx ( this are different)

i try a hotswap, and i can test heads 100% ok.

You are right is not PCB problem.

Need ROM or the FW for this disk ?
