I managed to fry my PCB by connecting the power connector the other way around :roll:

I am looking for a decently priced PCB since the only ones I found so far are $50 at least and since I don't have any super important things on the drive I am not willing to pay that much.

Here are the specs:

MDL: WD2500JB-00REA0
Date: 02 Nov 2006
DCM: HSBHNT2CA

On the other side of the drive is a sticker which says:

2061 - 701292 - C00 AED12 XW 3E14 TF39 8 0002180 7182

Which number is important? Can I use any PCB as long as it comes from a "00REA0" (given that I swap the ROM)?

Anyone got this PCB? As I said I am not willing to pay more than $50.

Thanks

Read a few threads here and see you cannot just swap this PCB board on this one. Then if you read a few more there is an electronic geek on here that post the same thing over and over again about your TVS. He has racked up a lot of posts in a short amount of time all on same subject. Is this your board etc on this one you can move the U12 chip over and a few more. You have a choice now to do one of two things. It is your drive you can follow his advice or you can search here and find what you need from a professional who does this for a living. But in reality you can not just change your PCB on this one. If 50 dollars is too much money then what you can do is trash this drive and go and buy a new one. If nothing is important on your drive why invest in a repair that will not work for you unless you have special knowledge on this one to do the job. Sorry to say this but this is not a standard plug and play change out board case for you.

If you match the "00REA0" (that is the firmware) it should work.

@networkpc3000,
I doubt any pcb with 2061 - 701292 would work with this drive its a starling drive and unless you get lucky the pcb will click .

Ann, are you talking about me? :-)

If you look below your own post, you will see people who repeat the same post over and over again, no matter what the problem, even though it violates the terms and conditions of this forum.

"We have this working PCB in stock. Pls contact my hotmail."

"i have it in stock. please feel free to contact me by MSN or email."

Wouldn't it be more helpful for someone (like me) to say, "Upload a photo, there may be an easy DIY solution"?
