Need PCB for WD5000AAKS-22A7B2

November 29th, 2010, 20:17

This HDD uses two 320 platters that are reduced to equal 500GB so doing a search usually turns up a 640GB HD. I only need the PCB.

MDL: WD5000AAKS-22A7B2

DCM: HANNNT2CA

PCB: 2061 701590 L00 AA

Manufacture Info: 18 Nov. 2008, Malaysia

If any other information about this HD is needed?

More information:
The problem occured when I had the SATA hooked via a USB (converter) in my laptop - I couldn't close the program I was using from the HD in order to safely remove the USB connection - I pulled it out anyway. I heard a screetch from the HD and from that point on, it spins up but whines and clicks. I opened it and the stylus moves across the platters fine.. so I am assuming it is a problem with the primary circuit board...?
BIOS will show the HD but after attempting to read past primary POST it cannot load and just gives up and shuts the drive down. CMOS will not see it.

Maybe, but now you have almost certainly damaged the media surface

At any rate, just attaching a new PCB wouldn't have solved your problem anyway, as these drives have unique information stored to the PCB
