WANTED: WD1600JB-75GVCO; DCM: HSBHCTJCH 2060-701-265-001 REV

My GF's HDD's PCB main WDC IC chip overheated - trace of chared discoloration on insulation pad. I swapped a few PCB boards (anyone can do it) from identical donor HDDs before. But this one is very difficult to find. Please, if anyone has one for sale - I'd buy it. She recently started a new job and several presenatations that she worked on for about a week are on that drive. She's devastated. The HDD was in Dell Dimension PC - etched PCB code: 2060-701-265-001 REV A; white barcode label (by IDE pins): 2061-701265-200. Thank you very much. Arthur.

See this thread:

When swapping PCBs, you will need to transplant the serial EPROM chip at U12 from patient to donor.

If you are not adept at soldering, your local TV/AV repair shop should be able to do it for you.

hi,
take a look my video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2hgiDHiXKM for swap ROM. and no need to identical donor HDDs. just the same model of PCB will be fine.

Thank you guys for your replies. One of the forum members who PMed first is taking care of this issue. I am amazed at what you folks know about this stuff and how deep the science behind the HDDs seems to be (at least to novices like me).
