Hello Guru's I have WD5000AAKS which is dead. I need some help recovering data from this drive. I have checked all the DIOD's (D3, D4) and registers( R67 and R64) all seems to be fine. Is the smooth chip busted? or the internal motor? How can I diagnose this issue. PCB: 2061-701477-800 AF DCM: DBRCHV2CBN Thanks SO |

hi, i have this model of PCB in stock. it had to do FW transfer operation. i can help you do that. please feel free to contact me by email or MSN. if you just want the smooth chip for try. you can take it from similar PCB locate. but be careful. if any mistake PCB will kill the read/write head. make Data recovery cost more higher. good luck |

You can test the motor windings by measuring their resistances on the 200 ohms range of your multimeter. They should measure around 3 ohms. |
