Help - need Hitachi PCB for 1TB Hard Drive

Hopefully someone will help me, manufactors don't want to know about it. Living in Ireland but bought Lacie hard drive in New York under a year ago. Anyway smoke and burning smell coming from circuit board on the hard drive. now I cannot access my hard drive. Can a replacement circuit board or repair.

It's not a straightforward PCB swap, these drives have unique NVRAM info on them which needs to be transferred.

If you upload a detailed photo, one of us may be able to help you repair your board. Many times the problem is only a shorted diode, in which case it can simply be removed.

The NVRAM information is stored in two ICs at locations U5 and U7. If you need to replace your board, your local TV/AV repair shop should be able to transfer these chips for you.
