Hi,

I need a PCB for a Seagate HDD that makes a faint beeping sound. I hint that the PCB went bad cause the platters don't even spin nor the head even attempts to move. PLEASE HELP ME!

That doesn't sound like a PCB fault. Your drive is probably suffering from stiction or a seized spindle motor.

Did you drop it?

No I did not drop it at all. I take very good care of it. I have had a previous hard drive mess up so I'm very careful. I did notice many other Seagate HDD users with the same problem and some have said that the PCB goes bad.

As soon as I hook up the USB, the drive begins emitting a faint beeping noise and stops after 5 minutes. Never does the platter or the heads make a move. The computer recognizes something, but does not assign a drive letter or even acknowledge it thereafter. After all this, the faint beeps stop emitting.

What do you think the problem may be? I already bought an external enclosure thinking it was the SATA to USB adapter, but that did not work. I'm looking into finding a PCB replacement.

I still think you have a stiction fault.

Here are some sound samples from failed drives:

From the website you offered.
http://datacent.com/hard_drive_sounds.php

My continuous beeps sound like the first beep you hear in this video. Just that mine does not rotate.
(last one on WD sounds)Western Digital 500GB desktop hard drive with bad bearings can't gain full rotational speed.

What is the cause of that on my Seagate?
