Did you check R64 and R67? Did you try connecting the drive directly to your computer's motherboard? It could be that there is an additional problem on the USB-SATA bridge board inside the enclosure. |

Hi, I'll check R64 and R67, what should their values read. Also, when I plug the drive onto the mother board, the PC switches itself off and wont turn on again untill the drive is removed again. Thanks. |

D3 is still present in this photo: download/file.php?id=2926&mode=view Have you removed D3 since the photo was taken? R64 and R67 should measure 0 ohms. If the PC won't power up, then there must be another short circuit. Measure the resistances between ground and each of the +5V and +12V pins at the SATA power connector. Here is the pinout: http://pinouts.ru/Power/sata-power_pinout.shtml |

Yes, D3 was definitely removed, and still same problem. The resistors are reading 0ohms as they should. I'll meter the pins on the SATA connector as you suggest. Thanks. |
