Post subject:  Looking for Hitachi Laptop PCB - Model:HTS541060G9SA00

Hi,

I send my HD to a data recovery after sudden power off. It was not able to be identified by windows on external enclosure, & the clicking sound will be heared for 10 seconds everytime i try to connect it.

The company's evaluation report mentioned that it's a PCB failure, & they requested 500 Singapore $, which i found too much

There is nothing crucial in this HD, just some family pictures i forgot to backup previously..... so i decided to dot it my self & try to replace the PCB.

PCB required:
Hitachi Travelstar
Model: HTS541060G9SA00 - SATA
Size: 60 GB
Boarad Label first two lines: 0A26800
DA1189A

Thanks In Advance

I'm not a DR guy, but if the drive spins up, then it doesn't sound like a PCB problem to me.

If you wish to replace the PCB, then you will need to transfer the 8-pin NVRAM chip, or its contents, from patient to donor. I can't see their markings, but U3 and U6 are the most likely suspects. Can you identify the part markings?

BTW, there appear to be 3 fuses on the PCB -- F1 (2A), F2, and F3.

thanks fzabkar for you prompt response.

I'm not an expert, but as per my basic knowledge that HD will not spin or click if its PCB issue.

U3: 25FV055T
5HN4K

U6:RL66
W684
5T

I hope this is the info you are looking for.

My understanding is that U6 is the NVRAM that needs to be transferred to your donor. Your supplier should be able to confirm this.

BR93L66RF-WE2, Rohm, Microwire BUS Serial EEPROM, 256×16bits, marking RL66, SOP8:

U3 is a serial flash memory.

LE25FV055T, 512Kbit, 64Kx8, Sanyo, Serial flash memory, 8-pin:

fzabkar, thanks buddy...

I really appreciate your response & help.

So hypothetically if the PCB is the problem, changing U6 will be the only thing i need to do before swapping, right ?

another question, is it enough to found a matching board (first two lines) , or i need to find a board also has the same model number, hd size, P/n , MLC numbers ??

I'm not in the data recovery profession, so I can't offer accurate PCB matching advice. However, I would match as much as possible and then transfer U6. Your PCB supplier should be able to confirm whether a particular board is compatible.
