Hi all,
I'm new here. Just cleaned my old cupboard and found my 4yrs old WD1600AABS.. It was a gud smooth running HDD but soon later it got all cranked up. I lil loose SATA power contact made its power IC go puff!. I want to local market to get it replaced and they charged me a bit and the HDD worked but suddenly died again. I saw few youtube videos and thought that it may be possible if i repair my HDD and use it as a lil back-up drive. Could someone plz lemme know for hw much will i get its circuit board and stuff. And another thing after all these yrs it was handled roughly mainly as ppr weight but the condition of the drive is brand new. I want to give it a try and i do hope this forum will be of any help. thanks.
