Hi i am looking to recover data from this harddisk some adviced me to replace the PCB with the same model my HDD is wd2500js-22mhb0 ![]() PCB label is 2061-701335-C00 ADD4 XT 2W07 XRJT 4 0004170 6 174 ![]() i hope you can help me guys this contain very important data Thanks all |

You are probably not going to be able to "recover data" with a straight PCB swap. If this is your board ... http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-1443758497 ... 60_3865366 ... then you will need to transfer the 8-pin serial flash memory chip at location U12 from patient to donor. This chip stores unique, drive specific "adaptive" information. Some board suppliers include a firmware transfer or ROM transfer service for US$10 - $20: http://www.hdd-parts.com/20091010.html |

As it looks like they made no effort to clean the drive's exterior before opening, I can only imagine the contamination on the inside after opening it. |
