I need someone to do a rom transfer on wd1600bevs drive

I have ordered a donor drive for my wd1600bevs, but there is no u12 chip on the PCB. The info is stored on the cpu of the board, and I do not have a pc3000 to transfer the rom to the new donor board.
Could someone in the US with a pc3000 do this for me? Please email me your price and turn-around-time.

Thanks,

What is the problem with the drive? There is more to reprogramming a donor than just owning PC3000.

The drive is not recognized in bios or DDI. It makes a few quiet clicks and powers off. I would like to swap the PCB with a donor PCB as my first step, but I cannot swap the rom because its stored on the processor on the board.

What does your Scott Moulton distance learning guide say to do in these circumstances?

Stay on the topic. Either you can help me or not. I'm looking to outsource pcb rom swap since I don't have the tools to do it.

The PCB turned out to be ok. I replaced the head assembly with my donor drive and now the DDI is imaging it. Thanks for the input, I would have thought it was the PCB!
