Hello - I apologize to anyone who PM's me - I am not able to return a PM yet.
Here is additional info about my drive:
WD Caviar Black 1TB
WD1001FALS-00J7B1
I believe the BIOS on this model is built into the main IC.
Photos of the PCB here: Clearn burn on the SMOOTH chip.. not sure about anything else.
