I bought mine fully operational. seems like a lot of work to make your own board and populate it when complete units are not that expensive.

BTW I haven't seen much more to this project. kind of surprised m it didn't take off too much.

I was thinking of trying to do similar to discover NAND pinouts, Dev for the Propeller didn't seem all that hard.. Just not sure if this hardware would suffice or you would need to use a FPGA or something faster than the Propeller.

An operational board built by third party is around 170-200USD a piece. I can ship an unpopulated board for 30USD and populated for 60USD.
I have developed a few pieces for my friends here whom I am shipping for free :D :)

fair enough, Sounds like a great deal for your friends and you! wow I am sure I didn't pay that much when I got mine.

I tried it on a few flash devices to see if there was an JTAG with no success. ;-)

Hello there sir. Pl DM me your address. I just made a cart for mouser and it came to my knowledge that just the ICs would cost about 40USD. In case if you wish to attempt one more time, I would love to send you one for free :)
And if it works, may be you like it. You can surely pay 15USD to me and 15USD to Jtagulator Author in case if they accept any donations. I would be more than happy just sending it :)

Thanks for the offer, but I bought a complete unit, and it works fine. I meant that I tried finding JTAG on some flash devices using my JTAGulator, but could not find any JTAG interfaces.

I should check because I remember Joe Grand, the designer of this, a while ago was working on some updates to the firmware / software for it.

I am not all that experience in JTAG, so entirely possible I did not have environment setup properly and/or didn't know what the hell I was doing! I remember playing with OpenOCD and it wasn't easy, and I don't think project is really moving along anymore.

Understood. In fact for now I have been using JTAG finder and it works pretty ok. Apparently the JTAGULATOR can do the IDCODES nicely and some interfacing with OPENOCD is expected in the future.
So far I have had a super nice mental, logical, motivational and highly informative support from Sourcerer and the learning curve has been very cool for now.

The boards will arrive by Monday or so.
They look good.
Creating a Mouser/Digikey cart..that goes about 40-50USD of parts per board....The unpopulated board is for 30-35USD with shipping.
Will ship by registered mail (governmental) that takes about 15days. (Same as Aliexpress).

My dev uses this page:
https://jlcpcb.com/
Its uber cheap and very good quality.

nice!
I hope some people that use them will post some details of using it and any success they have with it.
Actually, just wondering how much JTAG is not marked or hidden, but still accessible? As opposed to locked, or component purposely not populated so JTAG doesn't work "out of the box"...

I would say all the possibilities exist.
What would be the next step in such cases for a determined rev engg?
LA DMM and cross application notes.
I am sure the learning curve is very steep and a long journey.
But atleast pursuing these things nicely can enhance work-employability.

I am yet to order the parts. Literally can not decide to find them locally or be in the laze and order it via mouser.
I have about 10 boards, out of which 2 I am populating for myself first.
Will post the procedure and results. I am positive that the stuff will work.

On topic, autosensing bidirectional translators used in this design arent the best solution, we used it once and made terrible mistake. Very sensitive to pullup/pulldown on target as suggested by TI on their page about those chips.

in case if you dont want one from my side and wish to keep the sour relations intact, you can also get yourself one printed in Delhi. can send the refernce
