Hi there,

We are looking for a donor for a Kingston Data Traveler 100 G3 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive but there are at leat two boards for this model, and the ones that are currently on the market do not match the donor we need. The board we need is more likely to be shared with past <= 16 GB variants of the flash drive, than with the current larger capacity models (e.g. 32GB).

The donor we need is visible in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TBiNadQKB0

The one wanted has a PHISON PS2251-07-V contoller ; not a SSS one.
The free NAND slot on the back face is labeled 2024570-001.B0.
(N.B. In our case, the NAND chip is a FT16B08UCH1-48.)

Have one for selling that you could send us to Switzerland in a bubble enveloppe ?
Please send your offer, or if any question reach us through our contact form: http://www.sosdonnees.ch/en/contact-form
Thank you!

@pclab: Thanks. Fingers crossed!

@hddguy: Because the connector was bent and I could briefly see the files.
Replacing the connector didn't work because they were damages to the tracks and there are some tiny component at boring locations (opposite to the connector pins). Still good hope that using a donor being more cost effective than a chip off.
Chip off as a last resort.

I wouldn't use a connector on the pcb. Don't forget you only need to attach 4 wires to gain usb2 access. Forget the usb3 connections! Of course if you still can't make it work then move on to the next stage.

@pclab: Thanks for the picture, but the one you have is USB 2.0 and seems 32GB from its chip.
Mine is a USB 3.0 and 16GB.

Could you post a good resolution photo of the device from both sides? Maybe the damaged tracks are easy to fix.
