Can you leave the capacitors in place if you can ensure that the USB-SATA bridge is "quiet"? For example, if you were to short the crystal for the bridge IC, would this disable the bridge and prevent it from interfering with SATA communications? |

Huh? , He is Chinese ,He did not understand what you said ,Technically if crystal is dead usb chip is not doing anythng ,But i will stlil remove capacitors as it isolates the chip connections and provides a stable connection |
