for the NVMe

I don't have a Portable, so this is purely from observation of owners of portable discussing NVMe support, but I think at least 9/10 are disappointed and regret getting it for the amount they paid. Consensus seems they'd never replace Express by a Portable, but would rather get USB Stabilizer to do NVMe cases in tandem with the Express.

And there's this: https://www.dolphindatalab.com/product/ ... -equipment, opinions?

c$9,000 for partial NVMe support and fewer ports.
I hope Ace will eventually launch a stand alone NVMe product.

Got an info few weeks ago that there will be no NVMe support in PC3000 Express or UDMA. But who knows. Maybe in few years we will see PC3000UBER or something

It cannot be added to PC3000 due to the current chipset not being compatible with NVMe drives.
So a standalone product is the only way to go.
Lets hope.

When I see posts like this, I really wish I had the time to try implementing a direct nvme mode in hddsuperclone. It would never have any firmware fixes, but maybe could better handle a flaky device that partially worked. But not only do I not have the time, I don't have access to any flaky or failing nvme devices, as I don't do data recovery but instead have a regular IT day job, and because of privacy policies no one is ever willing to send devices in this condition. And oh yeah, it would take me much time (did I mention that I don't have) to digest the documentation needed to do it (which can be found at the following link, just to give an idea of the scope - https://nvmexpress.org/developers/nvme-specification/).

EDIT:
I don't mean to hijack this thread with my comment. With that said, I do pay attention to how everyone states that a PC3000 license cannot be transferred. So I am surprised that has not been mentioned yet about the sale.

It can be transferred AFAIK but Acelab will require you to purchase one year support.

Yes, the main reason for UPGRADE is M.2 NVME
** more and more cases coming through

Yes, It can be transferred in Australia but Acelab will require you to purchase one year support to complete the full transfer.
**No ownership transfers for overseas buyers.

Just so you know the https://www.dolphindatalab.com/product/ ... -equipment, has no firmware software support.
**Personally I have given up on Chinese based products.

Deepspar USB Stabilizer is great for a lot of cases but it struggles with damaged NVME's

Are the cases you are seeing supported in the list? I bought mine for NVMe support and 99% of my cases are not supported for firmware fixes.

For tough cases that won't even detect on PC3K Prtable or Stabilizer, DeepSpar PCIe does the best.

Most of the time, my Protable system is only used for SATA hard drives when I run out of channels on my other systems.

If I were starting with nothing, I might go with the portable but I'd never exchange my express for a portable.

ACELABS PC3000 **** PORTABLE *** EARLY EVAL VERDICT ****

Well I have to say I'm very disappointed;

Basically, its just a plain jane PC3000 (Portable)

M.2 and NVME : tested on several damaged devices, its a NO GO
where is the firmware support ????

USB: several very damaged devices, its a NO GO

SAS: Still coming

It looks like I bought the wrong product for M2 NVME etc.

However EASY MODE is back; great for testing drives.

Then there's the cost, well its Back breaking for any business, especially here in Australia $ 1 Aud is only worth 0.61 eur
