MDL: WD1600JB - 00FUA0 Date: 09 Jan 2004 DCM: HSBACVJAA One down, one to go. Saved the data on my other HD that had the same fried component on the pc board - anything reasonabley close should do the trick. Much appreciated! Cordially Glen |

WD Marvel drive, you 99% surely will need the info off the ROM on the PCB, either read/write or physically xfer the ROM chip to the new PCB. |

Thanks for your reply but I'm not sure I understand your directions. Can you explain or point me to a thread that can provide further details please? The last WD drive (120gb) with the same burned out component, I just removed the old pcb and popped in the new one and it ran fine. |

oops. I was wrong, looking at the pic and having the PCB p/n helps. This isn't Marvel drive, I was thinking of GU family, not FU like this is. PCB should work if ROM version is the same and the head map is the same. |
