If you do a search on here for TVS, you'll find all the details, ans it's been mentioned many times before. Basically, there is a single part, called a TVS, that protects the drive from power supply transients, and often fails by shorting. It's got to be the easiest fix in data recovery. No guarantees that's your ONLY problem tho..
