Hi guys

I can You help me to diagnose and repair my HDD WD10JPVX
It's been dropped and now it's cliking when I try to connect it to laptop.

11:39:09 : Get drive passport... OK
11:39:09 : Get drive passport... OK
11:39:09 : Recallibration... Error!
11:39:09 : SMART: HDA temperature sensor not detected!
11:39:10 : Starting mechanical test: 0...0 LBA, reading, Timeout = 200ms
11:39:10 : Seek unknown error! (LBA 0)
11:39:10 : Stopping drive... HD Spindle is stopped


What can I do to get it working again

that I know but data on it its worth 0$ so that's why I'm interested to take a look on it is this some pcb problem or internal ??

It's an internal problem. The OS is detecting the JMicron USB-SATA bridge IC, not the HDD behind the bridge.

Agree 100%

It’s been dropped, and it’s clicking.

Zero chance it’s the PCB and it cannot be “fixed” by DIY.

yes Rameez that's right .... feeling IC heat is one of the most common methods to detect the Motor Ic Damage especially when the hard drive didn't respond after we power it on .... but when the motor IC is responsible for the Continuous Noise i think it's never got Hot and its' temperature will be normal although it's already damaged ... so we have to replace it.

What can I do to get it working again

yes Rameez that's right .... feeling IC heat is one of the most common methods to detect the Motor Ic Damage especially when the hard drive didn't respond after we power it on .... but when the motor IC is responsible for the Continuous Noise i think it's never got Hot and its' temperature will be normal although it's already damaged ... so we have to replace it.
