Hi Maysoft,
The supported drives list for Atola shows the statement below:
" Seagate hard drives are not supported at the moment, but full support for these hard drives will be introduced in 2009"
Do you know when we will be able to recover the firmware on Seagate drives through Atola? Is it close?
Thank you!
Dennis

I see Atola supports all Toshibas (that probably means GSS and GSX too)
I guess it beat PC3000 on this
Also it beat PC3000 on Samsung Trinity and Nexus I guess
And some Hitachies too

Hi Guru,
The diagnostics are very good. When they add the firmware support for Seagate it will be much better. I'm having some issues with their serial port being able to unlock passwords but that should be taken care of tonight. We paid 7000.00 US for the Atola and we'll know soon enough if it is worth it.

DriveDr:
At this time I cannot confirm the exact timeframe for adding full Seagate FW read/write support. However, there's a terminal available in Atola Insight. Although you won't be able to upload or download firmware modules, you still have access to all other commands.
If you'd like to recover 7200.11 drives with Insight, then you can open the help pages (available from the menu) and then navigate to Seagate 7200.11 recovery instructions.

I have several Hitachi Laptop Drives that I would like to be able to back up and restore firmware with the Atola.
Model: HTS543216L9SA00
The model is not supported in the current version. Since I can't actually use Atola to back up the firmware will I be able to back it up in a different program and import it into the Atola Software or do I just need to wait until it is supported?

Atola Insight does not support L9SA hard drives at this time. If you use a different program and would like to convert into Atola Insight format, please drop us a line:
http://atola.com/contact-email?type=1 (please just mention this topic to make sure I will receive your message) and I will let you know the details.
Thanks!
