Our daily work is mainly laptop repair and rarely (nowadays) computer repair.
Often we recognise that customers still are covered by warranty where we
then offer to make an image of their hdd - ususally the units are returned from
warranty repair with a fresh system - and all personal data ist lost.
Yesterday we received a HP laptop from customer back to restore the previously
made image (prior repair at HP) back to the erased hdd.
Out of a habit I usually started with Acronis - and was shocked to see that the
image of 120GB should take 5 to 6 hours. The 1:1 image of 120GB was stored
on a 500GB SATA and should be transfered back to its original hdd of 120GB.
That was the moment to see the work of Atola Imager/Insight feature which
was new to me:
With a few clicks I defined a new "Map" and filters - the partitions where
automatically shown to select.
It started - and no doubt - it took only close over an hour to finish that work.
And finally the clone (on the original hdd) worked without any problem....
Yes, there are other tools on the market which can do similar - but not that
simple with a few mouse clicks - and one does not have to be a technician
