hi,Dear Creator,for my understanding,serious bad sectors means the defects is just the sectors,but physical defects means not only the sectors but including other defects suchs as head,etc.

For me it reads like:
Serious bad sector: No ECC/DRQ possible
Physical defects: surface damages (scratches)

The last would really be a wonder on a new drive, but with this old class I can imagine a higher tolerance for slight surface damages.
