Hi everybody
I have a question about salvation data new HD HPE SP that can support spaces.
I have a seagate 7200.11 but died due click of death.
Can HD HPE SP swap platters with brackets ?
The drive has spaces between the platters (rings AND brackets)
I don’t know If brackets is the right word for it but there are metal thing that cling to 4 corners between the patters.
I’m planning to buy the HD HPE SP so I can swap the platters but when I saw the demo from salvation doing the swap of the hard drive I saw that the dive does not have brackets I the hard drive.
Can someone help me with this question.
Sorry for my bad English is not my first language.

multiple problems here, I will touch briefly on them...
a. your drive probably doesn't need a platter swap
b. from what I have heard the HPE Pro is crappy and does not work at all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1LnLEV-dk4i saw the you tube video for the drive seagate that i have using hdrc and i looks like it worked on the person In the video but when I saw the expierence from onther on this site users were not happy with the tool.
Do you think that the hd hpe sp and the hp pro are similar quality?
what can you recommend ?
Thanks

It's your choice to mess up the whole thing...
that video shows the platters moved from one body do another one. But does not show wether that drive worked after the intervention...

Why do you insist on swapping the platters?
If you have "click of death" then it's very very very unlikely a motor seizure problem.
You have been offered advice by two good pros, but you choose to ignore them.
Good luck!

I know this thread is dead but in regard to his question
The salvationData tool will not remove this stack. You can use the SD tool to remove a platter from a single platter drive if you REALLY neeed to.. but otherwise dont do it.. like recommended by the gurus.
Personally that tool looks better quality than SD
