Anyone else have a problem with Seagate Doctor 4.2?

January 22nd, 2010, 20:14

Version 4.2 will crash while reading a drives firmware whereas 3.0 works just fine. I've seen this with several drives now on the Barracuda choice. Anyone else have this problem?

1 :When You Try Repair 7200.11 And 7200.12 With The Software it Juts did Not Work With The Lastest Cases I Had ,I Had To Do The Damn Thing In The Terminal

2 :When i Press Defect scan It Terminates With a Access Violation Error "Lol SD Does Not Want Us to Repair Our Drives Haa Haa Haa ." I Love PC 3000 stability

I've gone back to 3.0 as 4.2 is full of bugs.

Yes it is buggy and can not back up and save FW. I tried on 4 drives yesterday and does not work at all. Takes long period of time to back one 1 mod and then by the time you get two the third one crashes and locks up the tool. You are right about this 4.2 version 3.0 works better.

The 7200.11 buttons have never worked for me. I have always had to use terminal. Has anyone had good results with version 4.2? It really seems like 3.0 was much better and more stable.
