Imaging at USB 2.0 speeds is a deal breaker for me. :(

Testing DC 2011 - already notice a great difference in the drive explorer in discovering filesystems.
Still need to test the new SA features..
Great stuff. USB interface... ehhhhh - if i need to clone disk high speed ill use something else..

Any idea of DC can work with USB 3.0?? Just 2.0?

Re: SalvationDATA upgrade plan for the second half of 2010

Even the "new" DC 2011 software uses the USB 2.0 device.

Think this is a test for the software - which might also work on a following USB 3.0 device.
Besides the connectivity for SATA hdd too.

Its just a guess, but everything else would be outdated in technology.

Its a must to do that - as the "old" device is limited for high volume data retrieval
and the Data Copy King is no alternative for DC.

Infact, I doubt its that complicated to redesign the DC with a NEC USB 3.0 chip plus
a SATA in and a SATA out port

USB3.0 is the direction for R&D but it definitely requires a hardware change of Data Compas. The most important is to access the materials of developing USB3.0 equipment for data recovery, as you know, Intel won't release that at this stage. But we are preparing and collecting information for the development of USB3.0.

This is also one reason we developped DCK to handle drives with big capacities using UDMA 133 mode.

So Dear Customers, thank you for your care about our upgrades and we care what you care, what you care is the market demand.

Is DCK a data recovery tool or just a fancy set it and forget it, black box, imager?

Allthough it looks like that USB 3.0 is not (yet) supported by some major manufacturers - in our
biz we should take any opportunity to increase speed.

I have set up all my (older) systems with a NEC USB 3.0 card and its definitively much quicker
than the USB 2.0 - even if it will not reach the theoretical maximum speed.

And if a DC USB 3.0 would be available now - which owner wouldnt set up immediately
an AMD system supporting the maximum USB speed?

Thank you, Thatdellguy, it's part of interesting info for developpers but it's still not enough!

We will release immediately once there's any progress with the USB3.0 with DC.

Thank you.

Hi Falther, Have you ever tried using DCK to image drives first and then scan with DC?
Is this a way to solve the capacity and speed limit?

The next upgrade for DCK is Data only image and better ability to image faulty drives.

Hi cuudulieu, thanks a lot for your interest in our tools but someone else was mistaking you as one of SalvationDATA alliance, this is really funny!

Since you have had a lot of experience in DR and you should be very clear about the most needed solutions. According to our discussion, we will do the best for you!

Thank you!

I was thinking the same. I had a private message from him and it makes no sense whatsoever.
