Firmware wanted SD: WD4000AAKS-00YGA0

Looking for firmware for Western Digital WD4000AAKS-00YGA0. PCB failure on the drive.
I have in stock a WD5000AAKS-00YGA0 with matching PCB numbers, but it is not a good enough match to act as a donor. I know on older WD Silver II I could get away with using different capacity PCBs and then altering the head map. Has anyone had any luck doing something similar on more modern ROYL series drives?
Best wishes,
John

Yes, but it won't work with SD I'm afraid unless they've fixed the bug with Royl head map alteration.
You could end up with a dead PCB if you use SD on it

You have PM.

Hi there,
just been working on it. Used a matching WD5000AAKS PCB and altered the head map from Heads 2,3,4,5 to use heads 0,1,2,3 for the WD4000AAKS and it worked a treat.
All the best,
John
