I have been bashing my brains with this hdd. Initially plugged into DC and it went Ready- opened explorer read the partitions i could see the file structure selected the files and started to recover- after 1s sector(PIO) hard drive buzzed and did not respond. Plugged in HD doctor. did not go ready-- tried many times- spins up 2 minutes down and twice like that. I got it to PCB mode and read the ROM- the head map is 0,2,3,4 - is that normal? I checked with donor and its head map is 1,2,3,4 After messing about with res file conversions and all that i tried the hot swap procedure. read patient p/glist write to donor. The drive went ready for a while and i could read a few modules of the patient and then died completely Using the donor pcb the drive spins up but clicks- and cannot access data. Another thing is i cannot find the proper PCB donor based on FW xxVAxx .. Drive does not spin up with original PCB now- stays in PCB mode in HD Doctor. can only read/write rom.. Any tips on how to rule out PCB or Heads. Thanks for looking and for any helpful replies. |
