hi, yes is useful if you have maxtor drives to fix ... here i don't have many Maxtor drives (before seagate) to recover ...

Very, very few cases with maxtor.

no not worth buying anymore as maxtor got bought out by seagate

plus there is no support for any loaders

i would not pay less then $100 for one

Depends on if in your area the number of Maxtors and if they give problems. Unit works fairly well, maybe issue with one model drive but I am still investigating.
