I'm having a problem with a Seagate Barracuda LP ST31000520AS.

After repairing the FW (The normal way m0,2,2,,,,,22 and N1 etc.) The drive can image from sector 0 to 150,000,000 with no problem but cannot read any sector there after. To my knowledge this is a translator problem.

Now my question: 1.) Can Disk Doctor for Seagate correct the problem? There is the option under "new feature for 7200.11" then "Translator Regeneration" Most important: 2.) if i try this option, could it cause data loss?

I Fixed the problem with PC3000UDMA using Translator Recovery Option.
