Hello All, I have a Hitachi Simple Drive (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitachi-LS-1000 ... B002TV5JWW) that currently does not work because the USB point has broken. I know that this USB point and power are in a simple PCB, but not sure where to purchase this. Does anyone know where to purchase this PCB, and what the model number is? I have also contacted Hitachi, but no luck. I need the data very urgently and tried to access the HDD directly using (http://www.amazon.co.uk/IOMAX-External- ... B001ALPWUQ), but this does not power up the HDD. Please can you let me know what is the exact caddy I will have to use for this Hitachi Drive, so that I can access the contents in this drive? All help appreciated. I have attached the image of the HDD so that you can help me with exact caddy. Si

That USB caddy appears to be for laptop drives and is bus powered. You need one for desktop drives, with a separate power supply. Any decent quality USB enclosure should work, somewhere like Maplin or our local independent PC store should be able to help. If the drive still doesn't power up, then you have more serious issues and should seek pro assiatance. Good luck! |
