Hi,

I have a WD5000AAKS-22TMA0 that spins up but the heads don't move into read mode (clicking sound). I replaced the PCB with no change. I am trying to get a donor drive to swap the heads but am not sure if I need to buy the same exact model. I bought one that only has 2 heads so I can't use it. Are there any other models that use 4 heads since the drive has 4 platters?

TIA!

Hm? Tornados like this have 3 platters with 6 heads.

I've never seen a 5000AAKS Tornado drive with less than 6 heads, let alone 2. What did you match? I bet you've bought a Tahoe drive? They are completely different families.

Is this your drive? Does it contain any valuable data? Judging by your description and your questions, you don't seem to have any experience in this field, and I would advise against doing this yourself, if data is of any value at all.
