curious question, USA job market

January 12th, 2011, 19:22

Been doing basic DR with outsourcing to a 3rd party for all PC3K, bigger PCB, Clean Room, and work that requires hardware imager VS. Software imaging. In the current market, if I were to learn DS and PC3K very well, 48 hours a week for the next year, think it could be possible to land a job with a decent company in the next year? Probably somthing that would be better for PM, and any suggestions would be welcome. Also, you're not helping a noob, I've been here for years, just now with this name.

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

It only depends on you. If you want to avoid problems, frustration and save time, keep outsourcing that is a win-win-win story. Simple. Also you can hire someone for teaching you - pc3k sd and co. are not always necessary.

This would also require your purchasing the tools in order to learn them. Are you able/willing to invest $15-$20,000 so that you can learn? You'd probably be better off offering to volunteer for six months in exchange for a job, if you work out.

I love how DR has become an easy street living where all you need is an online class (hddguru) and the text books (PC3K, SD, ect...). I can't count how many failed DR firms Ive seen disappear in just a few months.

I love even more when these cowboys call 'do you have a 6v200 ?' or 'do you know how to...' and I answer 'Yes and you?'
