Sounds like to me they are a regular run of the mill logical data recovery joint and looking to expand into mechanical fixes and flash/ssd recoveries so they do not need to farm them out to a full service DR firm.
Even tho i am not looking It would be nice to know the location of the job. Is it Los Angeles?
How long have you been open?
Since they are only looking for an Expert with at least 1 year of experience means they will most likely not pay that well.
If i was looking for an expert, i would expect at least 4-5 years in the industry.
just my 2 cents...

We are a full service DR firm and are looking to hire another full time DR person due to the sheer volume of drives we are currently receiving. We currently do all of our data recovery in house and do indeed have a full clean room and tools necessary. As far as the starting pay that would be discussed in the final interview and would commensurate with skillset.

If I was looking, and didnt know the pay structure, I wouldnt be getting anywhere near the final interview. But I am willing to bet that pay rates and such would be quite easily discussed privately, and I wouldnt expect a firm to just publicise that info on a forum. They may choose to, but IMHO it is quite alright to keep it private. The successful candidate may not be comfortable with all of us know what pay he is now getting.
As always, horses for courses..

Thanks for answering my first question. How about the other 2?
I would not discuss pay on a forum either, but i would give some indication of who I am tho.
oh well...

We have been open for almost 3 years. As it says in the original post it is in Los Angeles. I wish I could edit it but it won't let me. We are looking for local applicants only. I also do not use the job title Data Recovery Engineer because that sometimes makes people think a bachelors degree is required.

I appreciate the response. The local applicants only should cut down on the resumes.
