I am looking for someone who can deal with file system JFS1

The job is 6 disks in Raid, disk are 100% cloned without any error.

ATTENTION: JFS1 is completed diferrent from JFS2 that linux is support.

If someone handle this file system please PM price.

Hi,

More info ... Machine and AIX.

I'm not sure if anyone has helped you yet since there's no follow-up.

I have a few questions before I can tell you if I can help. I have an RS/6000 running AIX5L, the version at which JFS2 was introduced and which still had JFS1 supported, which I am using myself. The hardware is old, but rock solid and so I keep it just in case.

You mention drives are cloned, so I assume you can provide images on physical media. You mention RAID. Do you know the RAID parameters, or does that need to be discovered?

Is this a damaged filesystem you need to recover data from, or are these disks from a machine that no longer functions so you need the files extracted from the filesystem? If you know the specifics of the machine they came from, that would be helpful.

If the filesystem is not damaged and the RAID parameters are known, then this will be a quick and relatively inexpensive job. If either of those are not true, the time and cost will be greater, but I cannot give you an estimate without more details.

I can handle JFS1, but guys, this post is over a year old and if I remember Zebong has resolved the issue in the meantime.
@Avengence, yes your RS6000 with AIX5L should work, but I think the case has been long closed.

@quasimodo: If its been handled, that's great, but the original poster should be closing this in that case. I responded out of a desire to help since I'm not a DR pro meaning I don't do recovery from physical failure, just someone with more experience than I wish doing FS recovery and a good variety of hardware at my disposal.
