CORRUPTED HARD DISK RECOVERY

Hi,
My laptop hard drive is corrupted and will not boot up my laptop. I have replaced my laptop with a new drive but I really need the data recovered from my old drive recovered and restored. I have tried accessing the old drive with the SATA to USB adapter but the drive isn't mounting as an external drive.
THERE RE NO CLICKING NOISE, judging by the noise it makes when its on I CAN HEAR THE HARDRIVE READING BUT NOTHING IS SHOWING UP WHEN I MOUNT THE DRIVE
PLEASE HLP!!!
