Seagate HDD pass all SMART tests but is not showing up

February 27th, 2021, 20:17

Hello friends,

I have a 1TB Seagate HDD with valuable stuff on.

It's spinning, recognized by the PC BIOS and also by Seagate tools and also pass all the S.M.A.R.T tests in that software, the short and the long ones.

But it's not showing up in windows and not showing up in the disk management tool at all.

Someone has told me to try to run it under Linux to see if it shows up but I don't have access to Linux right now.

I think is was damaged due to a power break but I'm not sure as all of the above do work, so I'm not sure it's an electronic issue.

Could it be a corrupted MBR? or something similar?

What could/should I do first to try to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Roy.

Can you show us the Partitions window in DMDE?

Can you show us the SMART report in CrystalDiskInfo (or DMDE)?
