Cannot access old Hard drive send halp.

I have an old Toshiba Qosmio X505 laptop i used back in 2011 and I'm trying to get some of the files off it. The laptop will start up and i can get into windows but its slowwwww going and it needs to be plugged into the charger or it shuts off. I thought i could just buy a usb to sata adapter plug her up and access the hard drive, but that's not been the case so far. Im wondering if anyone has any input on what might be the problem/steps i can take to recover the data on this Hard drive.

It's showing used space 0 free space 0
Has no security tab in properties
Tried finding solution using google searches to no avail
I attached some screenshots that may help diagnose the problem maybe...hopefully.

try using DMDE and see if it can clone the disk (select the disk in the list at DMDE startup, rightclick the disk and choose to image (to a file)
