Voice logger Data Recovery

April 28th, 2021, 1:11

Dear friends
Hope You are safe -- Take Care

Today I have got a forensic investigation case. One of my customer has found Voice Logger attached unauthorisedly to epbax .
I have got desktop PC where it was getting recorded ( call logs are deleted and application uninstalled by suspect)
I have made 2 copies of forensic clone.
I want to know in what formats generally these devices store data.since telephone lines are having analog data.
If someone has already worked on such devices , any clue might be helpful for me.
Thanks

I would likely buy an identical device and hack that one, where it is possible to pull apart at your will, take pics to ID chips and post here etc.
depending on the logger, it could be simply .wav or less likely but still possible, .mp3. or a variation, customisation of it.

If you search flash extractor site for voice there might be some info that's useful.

BTW, was the recorder connected directly to the lines? is there any storage on the device?

Not really sure much useful evidence will be gained from this though

Thanks HaQue
You are right its .wav recording. telephone lines are attached to device which is connected to PC through USB. Its a dumb device.
all data is stored on PC. I have retrieved all data. It was fairly simple case .
