Wiper V2.0 by HddSurgery – Advanced Data Erasure Tool

April 3rd, 2026, 9:31

We decided to support the data recovery community by providing a free version of Wiper by HddSurgery (V2.0).

Wiper V2.0 is designed for fast, controlled, and secure data erasure across HDDs and SSDs. It performs full overwriting of all user-accessible areas using zeros, random data, or custom patterns, ensuring complete and irreversible data removal. The software is optimized for speed and reliability, with support for simultaneous operation on multiple devices, making it ideal for batch workflows in professional data recovery labs.

In addition to secure wiping, Wiper can write custom patterns that integrate with File Lister, allowing problematic sectors to be clearly identified during file list generation. This helps recovery labs review results more efficiently and enables customers to validate extracted data with greater confidence.

Wiper also provides detailed technical insights for each connected device, including model, serial number, interface type, maximum LBA, drive health status, partition layout, temperature, and S.M.A.R.T. data (for ATA drives). During operation, real-time status information such as progress, current LBA, write speed, number of passes, and total duration is displayed, ensuring full transparency and precise control.

You can download it from our website here:

We’d love to see how Wiper V2.0 can support and streamline your workflows in professional data recovery labs. If you have any feedback or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to supporting your work!

How can we be sure that the over-provisioned space on SSDs has been erased?

We do not know, You can let us know when You test it :)
We use this tool to wipe hdd for cloning.

If your tool simply writes a specified data pattern to the UA of an SSD, then obviously that won't touch the over-provisioned space. To clear that area, you would need to execute a secure erase or enhanced secure erase or a cryptographic erase or a PSID revert, or something of that nature.

Do not want to sound rude but we wrote this in 2cond sentence :)

"It performs full overwriting of all user-accessible areas using zeros, random data, or custom patterns"

That's what prompted my question. On the basis of that statement, your wipe tool is not secure when dealing with SSDs or other flash-based storage.

In addition to secure wiping ...

Wiper V2.0 is designed for fast, controlled, and secure data erasure across HDDs and SSDs.

These claims are inconsistent with the first statement.

it says
It performs full overwriting of all user-accessible areas using zeros
I do not know users running around with forensics kits...but I get Your point.
When we wipe clone and data drives before cloning we write pattern on it.
Thanks for the input, maybe in next version of our free wiper will will try to add this feature.

That's a naive statement. You are offering your tool to data recovery professionals, not end users. Many of these people offer secure data destruction services to corporate clients. They would be acutely aware of the insecurity of tools such as yours. In any case, if you watch the user forums, as I do, you will see that users expect that securely erased media should not be recoverable under any circumstances, even by state actors such as the CIA.

@ helpdisc

Suggestion: It would be a good idea to ADD a function to exclude drives from the list.

for example: if you have 2 drives installed the OS drive is excluded from list but the 2nd. drive is listed
just to avoid the wrong selection for wiping.

Thank you
