hdd problem

suddenly my external hdd gets faulty when i connect it with pc hdd spins for 10 to 15 seconds then stops. there is no partition shown in My computer please help me to retrieve the data.

1. This is the wrong section on the forum
2. Spin and shut down = bad heads in most cases, nothing you can do without professional help.

How do i install Firmware into my HDD i thought there will be an .exe file like flash drive firmware help me i think i stack...
